Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Prepare the Console
Unplug all cables from your Xbox 360 S, including the power cable. Place the console on a clean, stable surface with plenty of space to work. Use the plastic opening tool to carefully remove the faceplate by prying it off from the sides.
Open the Console
Use the Torx T10 screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom of the console. Carefully detach the top and bottom panels. Keep the screws organized to ensure correct reassembly.
Access the Disc Drive
Locate the disc drive once the console is open. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the drive. Carefully lift the drive out, ensuring you don't damage the connected cables.
Inspect and Clean the Disc Drive
Use the can of compressed air to blow out any dust or debris from the disc drive. Inspect the drive belt and laser lens for damage. If the belt is loose or broken, it needs replacement. Similarly, if the lens appears scratched or damaged, consider replacing it.
Replace Components if Necessary
If you identified issues with the drive belt or laser lens in the previous step, carefully replace these components. Use tweezers to handle small parts and ensure they are securely fitted.
Reassemble the Console
Carefully place the disc drive back into its position and secure it with screws. Reattach the top and bottom panels of the console, ensuring all screws are tightly fastened. Reattach the faceplate by snapping it back into place.
Test the Repair
Reconnect all cables and power on the Xbox 360 S. Insert a disc to ensure it reads correctly and ejects smoothly. If issues persist, double-check the installation of replacement parts or seek professional assistance.
