Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Find a clean, well-lit workspace to avoid losing screws and small parts. Gather all necessary tools and materials before beginning the repair.
Remove the Outer Shell
Use the plastic opening tool to carefully pry the top cover of the Xbox One X. Start from the back edge and work your way around. Be gentle to avoid breaking any plastic clips.
Detach the Internal Components
Using the Torx T10 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the metal casing. Keep these screws organized as they will be needed for reassembly. Carefully detach the metal casing to access the internal components.
Access the Disc Drive
Locate the disc drive, which is typically situated on the right side of the console. Use the Torx T8 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the disc drive. Carefully disconnect the cables attached to the disc drive using tweezers.
Inspect and Test the Disc Drive
Inspect the disc drive for any visible damage or disconnections. If the drive is faulty, replace it with a new one. Reconnect the cables and secure the replacement drive with screws.
Reassemble the Console
Reattach the metal casing and secure it with the T10 screws. Carefully snap the top cover back into place, ensuring all clips are engaged. Double-check all connections.
Test the Repair
Reconnect the power cable and turn on your Xbox One X. Test the disc drive by inserting a disc to ensure it reads and ejects properly. If issues persist, re-evaluate the connections and the drive installation.
