Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Work Area
Set up a clean, static-free work area. Lay down an anti-static mat and gather all necessary tools and materials. Ensure the Xbox One is completely powered off and unplugged from all cables.
Remove the Xbox One Outer Shell
Using the plastic opening tools, carefully pry open the side panel of the Xbox One. Start from the back and gently work your way forward. Use the T8 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top of the console. Set aside the screws and remove the top casing.
Access the Disc Drive
Locate the disc drive once the casing is removed. Use the T10 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws securing the disc drive in place. Carefully disconnect the cables attached to the drive, using tweezers if necessary to avoid damaging connectors.
Clean and Inspect the Disc Drive
Use a microfiber cloth and compressed air to gently clean any dust or debris from the disc drive and surrounding area. Inspect the drive for any visible damage or loose components that could cause reading or ejection issues.
Replace the Disc Drive (If Necessary)
If the disc drive shows signs of damage or fails to work properly, replace it with a new one. Align the replacement drive and reconnect the cables. Secure it with the screws you previously removed.
Reassemble the Xbox One
Once the disc drive is secured, replace the top casing of the Xbox One. Use the T8 Torx screwdriver to reattach the screws. Snap the side panel back into place, ensuring all clips are securely fastened.
Test the Repair
Reconnect all cables to your Xbox One and power it on. Test the disc drive with a game or media disc to ensure it reads and ejects properly. Repeat any necessary steps if issues persist.
