Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Ensure you have a clean, well-lit workspace. Gather all necessary tools and materials before you begin. Put on your anti-static wrist strap.
Remove the Back Cover
Using a precision screwdriver, remove the screws on the back of the Switch Lite. There are four screws on the corners and some hidden under the kickstand and Joy-Con areas. Carefully set the screws aside.
Detach the Battery Connector
Gently detach the battery connector using a plastic opening tool to avoid short circuits. This ensures no power is supplied to the motherboard during the repair.
Access the Cartridge Slot
Locate the metal shield covering the cartridge slot. Remove the screws securing the shield and carefully lift it away. You will now have access to the cartridge slot.
Inspect and Clean the Cartridge Slot
Examine the cartridge slot for any visible damage or debris. Use a microfiber cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the slot, ensuring no residue is left behind.
Replace the Cartridge Slot (if necessary)
If the slot is damaged, use tweezers to carefully disconnect the ribbon cable and remove the faulty cartridge slot. Install the new cartridge slot by reconnecting the ribbon cable and securing it in place.
Reassemble the Switch Lite
Reattach the metal shield over the cartridge slot and secure it with screws. Reconnect the battery connector. Carefully place the back cover on the console and secure all screws.
Test the Repair
Power on the Nintendo Switch Lite and insert a game cartridge. Verify that the console reads the game correctly and that there are no ejection issues.
