Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace
Find a clean, well-lit workspace free of static electricity. Gather all the tools and materials listed above. Ensure the console is powered off and unplugged. Use an anti-static wrist strap to prevent static damage.
Remove the Outer Shell
Carefully lay the PlayStation 5 Pro on its side. Use the plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the white plastic cover. Start from the bottom edge and work your way up to prevent damaging the clips.
Access the Disc Drive
Locate the disc drive within the console. Use the Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal plate covering the disc drive. Carefully lift and set the plate aside.
Inspect and Clean the Disc Drive
Visually inspect the disc drive for any obvious obstructions or damage. Use the compressed air can to blow out any dust or debris. If the lens appears dirty, gently clean it with a microfiber cloth lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol.
Test the Drive Mechanism
Manually test the disc drive mechanism by gently inserting and ejecting a disc. If the mechanism is not functioning smoothly, consider replacing the drive. If it functions correctly, reassemble the console.
Reassemble the Console
Reattach the metal plate over the disc drive and secure it with screws. Carefully snap the outer shell back in place, ensuring all clips are securely fastened.
Final Test
Reconnect the PlayStation 5 Pro to power and test the disc drive with a game disc. Ensure it reads and ejects discs correctly. If issues persist, further inspection or professional repair may be necessary.
