Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before starting the repair, ensure your iPhone 12 Pro is completely powered off. Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your phone.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Using a Pentalobe screwdriver (P2), remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning port. Keep these screws in a safe place for reassembly.
Heat the Display
Use an iOpener or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the display. This softens the adhesive securing the screen, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Lift the Display
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display. Pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to gently separate the display from the frame. Be careful not to pull too hard as there are cables attached underneath.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket using a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the logic board to prevent any electrical discharge.
Detach the Display Cables
Remove the screws securing the display cable bracket using a Phillips screwdriver (PH000). Carefully disconnect the display cables using a spudger.
Replace the Screen
Remove the old display completely and prepare the new screen. Transfer any necessary components (such as the earpiece speaker and sensors) from the old display to the new one. Attach the new display by connecting the display cables.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board and secure the battery connector bracket with the screws removed earlier.
Seal the Display
Carefully align the new screen with the frame and press it down gently to secure it with the new adhesive strips. Ensure the screen is properly aligned and sealed.
Reinsert the Pentalobe Screws and Test
Reinsert the two Pentalobe screws near the Lightning port. Power on your device and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly.
