Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Down the Device
Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone. This ensures safety and prevents any potential damage during the repair.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Using a Pentalobe (P2) screwdriver, remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning connector at the bottom edge of the iPhone.
Apply Heat to Loosen Adhesive
Using an iOpener or a hairdryer, apply gentle heat around the edges of the display for about 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive securing the screen.
Use Suction Cup and Opening Tool
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to loosen the screen from the body. Be cautious around the edges to avoid damaging the internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket using a Phillips #000 screwdriver. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from its socket on the logic board.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Carefully remove the screws and disconnect the front panel sensor assembly, display, and digitizer connectors using a spudger or tweezers. Take care not to damage the connectors during this process.
Remove the Old Screen
Lift the old screen assembly away from the iPhone body. If the adhesive is still holding, use your opening tool to gently pry it loose. Handle the screen carefully to avoid damaging the fragile ribbon cables.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen's connectors with their respective sockets and gently press them into place. Reattach the front panel sensor assembly connector. Ensure all connections are secure and properly aligned.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and secure it with its bracket. Replace the screws to hold it in place. Double-check that the battery is properly connected.
Seal the Screen and Reassemble
Carefully align the display with the body of the phone and press it into place. Reinstall the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the phone to secure the screen. Power on your device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly.
