Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before beginning any repair, ensure the iPhone 13 is completely powered off. Press and hold the volume down and side buttons simultaneously until the power off slider appears. Slide to power off the device completely.
Remove Pentalobe Screws
Use the Pentalobe screwdriver (P2) to remove the two screws located at the bottom edge of the iPhone, near the charging port. These screws secure the screen to the chassis.
Heat the Screen
Use an iOpener or a hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This helps soften the adhesive holding the screen in place, making it easier to open the device. Apply heat evenly for about 2 minutes.
Create a Gap
Attach a suction handle to the lower half of the screen, just above the home button area. Pull up on the suction handle to create a small gap between the screen and the frame. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap to start prying the screen away from the frame.
Detach the Screen
Carefully slide the plastic opening tool along the edges of the screen to release the clips. Work slowly to avoid damaging internal components. Once the clips are released, open the device by pivoting the screen from the left side, like opening a book.
Remove the Battery Connector
Use the Tri-point (Y000) screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the logic board to prevent any power from flowing through the device during the repair.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Use the Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the display cable bracket. Carefully disconnect the display cables using a spudger. There are three cables in total that need to be detached.
Install the New Screen
Take the new screen and connect the display cables to the logic board. Secure the display cable bracket using the Phillips #000 screwdriver. Ensure all connections are secure and aligned properly.
Reattach the Battery Connector
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board. Replace the battery connector bracket and secure it with the Tri-point (Y000) screws.
Seal and Secure the Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and press down gently to secure the clips in place. Replace the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device to secure the screen fully. Finally, power on the device to ensure the screen is responsive and functioning correctly.
