Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone completely. Wait for the device to fully power down before proceeding.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Use the Pentalobe screwdriver (P2) to remove the two screws located at the bottom edge of the iPhone, near the charging port. Keep these screws safe as you'll need them for reassembly.
Heat the Edges and Apply Suction
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply gentle heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Attach a suction handle near the bottom of the display, just above the home button. Pull up gently to create a small gap.
Pry Open the Screen
Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap created by the suction handle. Carefully pry around the edges to release the adhesive, starting from the bottom and working your way upwards. Be cautious around the top where the front panel is connected.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently pry up the battery connector from the logic board to disconnect it. This step is crucial to prevent short circuits.
Remove the Display Assembly
Use the Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the display connector bracket. Carefully disconnect the display connectors using a spudger, including the digitizer, display, and any additional connectors.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device. Reconnect the display connectors in the reverse order of removal. Ensure all connectors are securely fastened before proceeding.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the logic board and secure the connector cover with the screws removed earlier. Ensure the battery is properly connected to power the device.
Seal the Device
Gently press the screen into place, ensuring it is aligned. Replace the Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device to secure the screen. Test the screen for functionality before fully sealing.
Test the Replacement
Power on the iPhone to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test touch sensitivity and display clarity. If everything is working as expected, your repair is complete.
