Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Prepare Your Workspace and Power Off the Device
Before beginning, gather all required tools and materials. Ensure your workspace is clean, well-lit, and static-free. Power off your iPhone 15 Pro Max by holding the power button and sliding to power off.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Using the Pentalobe P2 screwdriver, remove the two screws located at the bottom edge of the iPhone, next to the charging port. Keep these screws safe for reassembly.
Heat and Remove the Display
Gently heat the edges of the iPhone using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive around the display. Attach the suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and lift gently, using opening picks to carefully separate the display from the frame. Do not remove the display entirely as it is still connected to the phone's internals.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #000 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket. Use a plastic opening tool to gently disconnect the battery connector from the logic board. This step ensures there is no power running through the device while you work.
Remove the Battery
Gently peel back the adhesive strips securing the battery. If necessary, use a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to loosen stubborn adhesive. Carefully lift the battery using a plastic opening tool, ensuring not to bend or puncture it. Dispose of the old battery according to local regulations.
Install the New Battery
Position the new battery in the housing. Secure it with new adhesive strips, pressing gently to ensure it is firmly attached. Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board.
Reattach the Display
Carefully align the display connectors and reconnect them to the logic board. Once connected, gently press the display back into place, ensuring it clicks into the frame securely. Reinsert the screws removed from the battery connector bracket.
Secure the Device
Use the Pentalobe P2 screwdriver to reattach the two screws at the bottom of the device. Ensure all screws are tightened securely, but do not overtighten to avoid damage.
Power On and Test
Finally, power on your iPhone 15 Pro Max to ensure it boots up correctly and the new battery functions as expected. Verify that the device charges and holds a charge efficiently.
