Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Prepare the Device
Power off your iPhone 15 Pro Max completely. Remove the SIM card tray using a SIM eject tool or a paperclip. Place your phone on a clean, flat workspace and organize your tools and replacement parts.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Use the Pentalobe screwdriver (P2) to remove the two screws located at the bottom of the phone near the charging port. Keep these screws in a safe place for reassembly.
Heat the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen to the frame. Be sure not to overheat the device, focusing on the edges only.
Separate the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the edges to loosen the screen from the adhesive. Be cautious around the top where the Face ID sensors are located.
Disconnect the Battery
Open the device like a book from left to right. Use the Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully disconnect the battery using a spudger to prevent any accidental short circuits.
Disconnect the Screen
Remove the screws securing the screen connector bracket using the Phillips screwdriver (PH00). Gently disconnect the display and digitizer cables using a spudger or tweezers. Remove the screen assembly from the device.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device. Reconnect the display and digitizer cables, ensuring a secure fit. Replace the connector bracket and secure it with the screws you previously removed.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the cover using the Tri-point Y000 screwdriver. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.
Seal the Device
Before sealing the device, clean any old adhesive residues with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the frame. Carefully align the new screen and press down firmly to ensure a tight seal.
Final Steps
Reinsert the SIM card tray. Power on the device to ensure the screen functions correctly. Test all functionalities, including touch sensitivity and display brightness. If everything works as expected, replace the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device.
