Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button and slide to power off the iPhone 16 Plus completely. Ensure the device is completely turned off before proceeding.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Using a Pentalobe screwdriver (P2), remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning connector at the bottom of the phone.
Heat the Edges
Use an iOpener or a hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the iPhone. This will soften the adhesive securing the screen to the frame.
Open the Display
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully slide it around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive. Lift the screen gently from the bottom, opening it like a book.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Carefully lift the cover and use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the logic board.
Disconnect Display Cables
Using a Phillips screwdriver (PH000), remove the screws securing the display cable bracket. Lift the bracket and disconnect the display cables using a spudger or tweezers.
Remove the Old Screen
Lift the screen assembly away from the device. Be cautious of any remaining adhesive that might still hold the screen in place. Set the old screen aside.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the iPhone. Connect the display cables to the logic board, ensuring they are secure. Reattach the display cable bracket and secure it with screws.
Reconnect the Battery and Close the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board. Replace the battery connector cover and secure it with screws. Carefully align and press down the screen to adhere it back to the frame.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen. Ensure touch functionality and display quality are as expected. If everything is working properly, the repair is complete.
