Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove Pentalobe Screws
Begin by powering off your iPhone 16 Pro Max completely. Use the Pentalobe screwdriver (P2) to remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning port at the bottom of the phone.
Apply Heat to Loosen Adhesive
Using an iOpener, hairdryer, or heat gun, apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Be cautious not to overheat the device.
Pry Open the Display
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the display from the rear casing. Start at the bottom edge and work your way around the sides.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket using a Tri-point screwdriver (Y000). Lift the bracket and disconnect the battery connector with a spudger to prevent power from flowing through the device.
Disconnect Display Connectors
Using a Phillips screwdriver (PH000), remove the screws securing the display connector bracket. Carefully disconnect the display cables using a spudger or tweezers to avoid damaging the connectors.
Remove Old Display
With the display connectors detached, carefully lift and remove the old display from the device.
Install New Display
Align the new display and connect the display cables securely. Reattach the display connector bracket and secure it with screws using the Phillips screwdriver (PH000).
Reconnect Battery and Secure Display
Reconnect the battery connector and re-secure the bracket with the Tri-point screwdriver (Y000). Carefully align the display with the frame and press down gently to adhere the new adhesive strips.
Replace Pentalobe Screws and Test
Finally, replace the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device. Power on the iPhone 16 Pro Max and test the new screen for touch responsiveness and display quality.
