Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the iPhone
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' option appears. Slide it to turn off the iPhone completely. This step is crucial to prevent any electrical short circuits.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Using the P2 Pentalobe screwdriver, remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning port at the bottom edge of the iPhone. Keep them in a safe place.
Separate the Screen Assembly
Place a suction cup just above the home button and gently pull to create a small gap between the screen and the body. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap, carefully prying around the edges to loosen the screen. Be gentle to avoid damaging the display cables.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the four screws securing the battery connector bracket using a Phillips screwdriver. Carefully lift the bracket away. Use the spudger to disconnect the battery connector by gently prying it up from the logic board.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Remove the screws holding the display cable bracket in place. Carefully lift the bracket and disconnect the three display cables underneath using the spudger. This will allow you to completely remove the old screen from the device.
Transfer Components to the New Screen
If your replacement screen does not include components like the home button, front camera, and earpiece speaker, you'll need to transfer these parts from the old screen. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove any necessary screws and carefully transfer each component to the new screen.
Reconnect the Display Cables
Align the new screen with the body of the iPhone. Reconnect the three display cables to the logic board. Ensure each connection is secure to avoid display issues.
Reconnect the Battery and Secure the Brackets
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board. Replace the battery connector bracket and secure it with the four screws. Do the same for the display cable bracket.
Secure the New Screen
Gently align the top edge of the screen with the top edge of the phone. Press the screen down towards the edges until it clicks into place. Replace the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the phone.
Power On and Test the iPhone
Press and hold the power button to turn on the iPhone. Test the new screen for touch responsiveness and display quality. Ensure all transferred components, such as the home button and camera, function correctly.
