Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' slider appears. Slide it to the right to turn off your iPhone 5 completely.
Remove the Bottom Screws
Use the Pentalobe screwdriver (P2) to remove the two screws located on either side of the lightning port at the bottom of the iPhone.
Open the Phone
Place a suction cup just above the home button and gently pull up to create a small gap between the front panel and the back case. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the display assembly away from the rear case. Be careful not to pull too hard as the display is still connected to the phone.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the metal battery connector bracket using a Phillips #000 screwdriver. Carefully lift the bracket and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger to prevent accidental shorting of the phone.
Disconnect the Display Assembly
Locate and remove the screws securing the metal bracket covering the display cable connectors. Carefully remove the bracket and use a spudger to disconnect the front-facing camera and sensor cable, LCD cable, and digitizer cable.
Transfer Components to New Screen
If the replacement screen does not have the home button, front camera, earpiece speaker, and LCD shield plate pre-installed, carefully transfer these components from the old screen to the new one using the appropriate tools and screws.
Reconnect the Display Assembly
Connect the new display assembly cables to the logic board. Ensure each connector is seated properly. Replace the metal bracket and secure it with screws.
Reattach the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board and replace the metal battery connector bracket. Secure it with screws.
Close the Phone
Align the top edge of the display with the top edge of the rear case and gently press down the sides to snap the display into place. Ensure it is securely fastened.
Secure the Bottom Screws
Replace and tighten the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the iPhone.
