Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair

1

Power Off the Device and Remove SIM Card

5 min

Turn off your iPhone 5c by holding the power button and swiping the 'slide to power off' slider. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card and tray from the device.

2

Remove the Pentalobe Screws

5 min

Locate the two pentalobe screws on either side of the Lightning port at the bottom of the phone. Use the pentalobe screwdriver to remove these screws and set them aside safely.

3

Open the Device

10 min

Place a suction cup just above the home button and gently pull up to create a small gap between the screen and the body of the phone. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully pry around the edges to release the clips. Be cautious not to pull the screen too far, as it is still connected by cables.

4

Disconnect the Battery

5 min

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws securing the metal shield covering the battery connector. Use a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector off the logic board to disconnect it.

5

Remove the Display Assembly

10 min

Remove the screws securing the metal bracket covering the display connectors. Carefully disconnect the front camera, LCD, and digitizer cables using a plastic spudger. This will free the display assembly from the rest of the phone.

6

Transfer Components to New Screen

15 min

If your replacement screen does not come with pre-installed components like the front camera or home button, transfer these parts from the old screen to the new one using tweezers and the appropriate screwdrivers.

7

Install the New Screen

10 min

Align the new screen's connectors with the corresponding ports on the logic board. Carefully press each connector into place. Reattach the metal bracket over the connectors and secure it with screws.

8

Reconnect the Battery and Close the Device

10 min

Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board and replace the metal shield. Carefully align the top edge of the screen with the top edge of the phone and press down along the edges to snap the screen into place. Reinsert and tighten the two pentalobe screws near the Lightning port.

9

Power On and Test the Device

5 min

Power on your iPhone 5c and test the new display to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check the touch response, front camera, and other features. Reinsert the SIM card and tray into the phone.
