Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Turn Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then slide to power off your iPhone 5s completely.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Use the Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two screws located on either side of the lightning port at the bottom of the device.
Open the Device
Place the suction cup just above the home button. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the back case. Be careful not to pull too hard as the screen is still connected by cables.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the metal bracket covering the battery connector using a Phillips #000 screwdriver. Then, use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the logic board.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Locate the metal bracket covering the display cable connectors. Remove the screws securing it, then carefully disconnect the front camera and sensor cable, LCD cable, and digitizer cable using a spudger.
Remove the Old Screen
Once all cables are disconnected, you can safely remove the screen assembly from the body of the iPhone.
Transfer the Home Button
If your replacement screen does not include a home button, use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the home button bracket. Carefully transfer the button to the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen by attaching each cable: front camera and sensor cable, LCD cable, and digitizer cable. Re-secure the metal bracket over the connectors.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the logic board, and secure it with the metal bracket.
Close the Device
Align the top edge of the screen with the top edge of the phone and gently press down to snap the screen into place. Reinstall the pentalobe screws to secure the screen.
