Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before starting the repair, ensure your iPhone 7 is completely powered off by holding the power button and sliding to power off. This prevents electrical hazards and data loss.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Use a Pentalobe (P2) screwdriver to remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning port at the bottom of the phone. Keep these screws safe as you'll need them during reassembly.
Open the iPhone
Use a suction cup to gently lift the front panel. If necessary, use an iOpener or heat gun to slightly warm the edges to soften the adhesive. Carefully insert a plastic spudger to separate the display assembly from the rear case. Lift the display up to about 90 degrees, taking care not to fully remove it yet.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket. Remove the bracket, then use a nylon spudger to disconnect the battery connector, ensuring no power is flowing through the device.
Remove the Display Assembly
Remove screws securing the display cable bracket and disconnect the display cables using a spudger. Carefully remove the display assembly from the device, making sure not to damage the connectors.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and reconnect the display cables. Ensure each cable is securely connected before proceeding.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the battery connector bracket. Power on the device to test the new screen, ensuring all touch functions and display features work correctly before sealing the device.
Seal the iPhone
Carefully align the screen with the body and press it into place. Replace the Pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device. Ensure the new adhesive strips are properly applied to maintain water resistance.
