Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the 'slide to power off' screen appears. Slide to power off the device completely. This ensures no current is running through the device, minimizing the risk of electric shock.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Using the Pentalobe screwdriver (P2), remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning port. Keep these screws safe, as they are needed for reassembly.
Separate the Screen from the Body
Place a suction cup just above the home button. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the body. Start from the bottom and work your way up the sides. Do not fully detach yet.
Disconnect the Battery
Use the Phillips screwdriver (PH00) to remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket, then remove the bracket. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the logic board. This prevents any power from flowing through the device during the repair.
Disconnect the Display Assembly
Remove the screws securing the metal shield covering the display cable connectors. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the front-facing camera and sensor cable, home button cable, and digitizer cable. Lift the screen assembly away from the body.
Transfer Components to the New Screen
If your replacement screen does not come with pre-installed components, transfer the home button, front camera, and sensors from the old screen to the new one using tweezers and a Phillips screwdriver. Be cautious with these delicate components.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone body. Reconnect the display cables, starting with the digitizer cable, then the home button cable, and finally the front-facing camera and sensor cable. Replace the metal shield and secure it with screws.
Reconnect the Battery and Close the Device
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board. Replace the battery connector bracket and secure it with its screws. Carefully align the top edge of the screen and press it into place along the edges until it clicks into the body.
Replace the Pentalobe Screws
Finish by replacing the two Pentalobe screws on either side of the Lightning port to secure the screen in place. Power on the device to test the new screen.
