Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Before starting any repair, power off your iPhone X. Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone.
Remove the Pentalobe Screws
Use a Pentalobe (P2) screwdriver to remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning port at the bottom edge of the iPhone X.
Heat the Edges
Using an iOpener or hairdryer, gently heat the edges of the iPhone to soften the adhesive securing the screen. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Lift the Display
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and lift gently to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to loosen the adhesive. Work slowly to prevent damage.
Open the iPhone
Lift the display carefully, opening the phone like a book, with the right side as the hinge. Do not fully remove the display yet, as it is still connected by cables.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket using a Tri-point (Y000) screwdriver. Use a spudger to disconnect the battery connector, ensuring no power runs through the device while you work.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Remove the screws securing the display cable bracket with a Tri-point (Y000) screwdriver. Use a spudger to disconnect the display cables gently, separating the display assembly from the logic board.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the device. Reconnect the display cables to the logic board and secure them with the bracket and screws previously removed.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the logic board and secure it with its bracket and screws. Ensure the connection is secure.
Seal the Device
Before sealing, test the new screen for functionality. If all is well, apply new adhesive strips around the edges and press the display firmly into place. Reattach the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom.
