Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power off' to completely turn off your Pixel 3 XL. This ensures safety during the repair.
Heat the Screen
Using an iOpener or heat gun, apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the screen in place.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen. Gently pull up to create a gap and insert a plastic opening pick. Carefully slide the pick around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of the ribbon cable connected at the bottom.
Disconnect the Screen Cable
Remove the screws securing the metal bracket that covers the screen connector using a T3 Torx screwdriver. Carefully remove the bracket and disconnect the screen cable using a spudger.
Remove the Old Screen
Once the cable is disconnected, completely remove the old screen from the device. Clean any residual adhesive from the frame using a microfiber cloth.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cable to the motherboard. Reattach the metal bracket and secure it with screws. Align the new screen over the frame and press down gently to adhere it.
Seal the Screen
Apply screen adhesive around the edges of the frame, if necessary. Press the screen firmly into place to ensure it is securely attached.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for responsiveness and display clarity.
Clean and Finalize
Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges. Ensure all tools and screws are accounted for and that the device is fully reassembled.
