Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' to turn off your Google Pixel 3a completely.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use an iOpener or a hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be sure to evenly distribute heat and avoid overheating.
Apply Suction Cup and Create a Gap
Place a suction cup near the top of the screen, and gently pull to create a small gap between the screen and the body of the phone. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap to keep it open.
Remove the Screen
Carefully slide the plastic opening tool around the edges of the screen to break the adhesive seal. If necessary, reapply heat to help loosen the adhesive. Lift the screen slowly to avoid damaging the cables underneath.
Disconnect the Screen
Locate the screen connector cable and use a spudger to gently disconnect it from the motherboard. Set the old screen aside.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen's connector with the motherboard and gently press it into place. Ensure it is securely connected.
Secure the New Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the new screen. Carefully set the screen into place and press firmly around the edges to secure it.
Reassemble and Test
Power on your Google Pixel 3a and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity.
Final Adjustments
If the screen is functioning properly, press down gently around the edges to ensure the adhesive is fully set. If needed, use a cloth to clean the screen.
