Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' to ensure the device is completely turned off before beginning the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Apply heat around the edges of the back cover using an iOpener, heat gun, or hairdryer for about 2 minutes. This softens the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover just enough to insert a plastic opening pick, then gently slide the pick around the edges to release the adhesive. Carefully remove the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector bracket. Remove the bracket and use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Remove the Screen
Apply heat to the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly, and insert an opening pick between the screen and the frame. Gently work the pick around the edges to separate the adhesive. Avoid inserting the pick too deep to prevent damage to internal components. Carefully lift the screen and disconnect the display cable using tweezers.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new display cable to the motherboard. Carefully align and place the new screen onto the frame, pressing gently around the edges to secure it with the adhesive. Use new adhesive strips or double-sided tape if necessary to ensure a secure fit.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard using a spudger. Secure it with the bracket and screws removed earlier.
Reattach the Back Cover
Carefully align and press the back cover into place. Apply heat if necessary to help the adhesive bond. Ensure that it is securely attached without any gaps.
Power On and Test the Device
Turn the device on by pressing the power button. Test the new screen by checking the display and touch functionality to ensure everything is working correctly.
