Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button and select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely turned off before starting the repair. This prevents any electrical hazards or data loss.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use an iOpener or heat gun to gently heat the edges of the Pixel 5 screen. This softens the adhesive securing the screen, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Insert the Suction Handle and Opening Tool
Attach a suction handle near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently lift the suction handle to create a small gap, and insert a plastic opening tool into the gap to begin separating the screen from the body.
Detach the Screen from the Frame
Carefully slide the opening tool along the edges to cut through the adhesive. Use the spudger for assistance. Be cautious around the top and bottom edges where cables are located.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it from the device, but do not remove it completely. Use tweezers to disconnect the display cable by gently prying it off the connector.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the display cable to the connector. Ensure the connection is secure before proceeding to the next step.
Secure the New Screen
Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the device. Carefully press the new screen into place, ensuring it is aligned properly with the frame.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Test for touch sensitivity and display clarity to confirm a successful installation.
