Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your Pixel 6 until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' to completely shut down the device.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using a SIM card ejection tool, insert it into the small hole next to the SIM card tray and gently push to eject the tray. Remove the SIM card tray and set it aside.
Heat the Screen Edges
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently heat the edges of the phone screen. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be careful not to overheat, as this can damage the phone's internals.
Detach the Old Screen
Place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently lift to create a small gap. Insert a plastic spudger into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious not to damage the display cables.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it up to expose the display cables. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove any screws securing the cable connectors, then gently disconnect the cables using tweezers.
Clean the Frame
Use isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean any adhesive residue from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before proceeding with the installation of the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame and reconnect the display cables. Secure the connectors with the screws you previously removed. Ensure the cables are properly seated to avoid connectivity issues.
Secure the Screen
Apply new adhesive strips to the edges of the frame, then gently press the screen into place. Make sure the screen is aligned properly and apply gentle pressure around the edges to ensure a secure fit.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Place the SIM card back into the tray, then reinsert the tray into the phone. Ensure it is fully seated.
Power On and Test the Device
Press the power button to turn on your Pixel 6. Test the functionality of the new screen, including touch responsiveness and display clarity, to ensure the repair was successful.
