Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' to ensure the device is completely turned off before starting the repair.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use an iOpener or heat gun to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen. This softens the adhesive holding the screen in place, making it easier to remove. Be careful not to overheat the screen.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the phone and pull gently to create a gap. Insert a plastic prying tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to release the adhesive. Lift the screen slowly and carefully, as it is still connected via a ribbon cable.
Disconnect the Screen Cable
Use a spudger to gently lift the connector securing the display cable to the motherboard. Carefully detach the cable to fully remove the screen.
Clean the Frame
Use tweezers and isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaining adhesive residue from the frame of the phone. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before proceeding.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the new screen. Attach the adhesive strips to the back of the new screen, aligning them with the edges.
Connect the New Screen
Align the new screen's cable with the connector on the motherboard and gently press it into place with the spudger. Ensure it is securely connected.
Secure the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen with the frame of the phone. Press down around the edges to secure the adhesive. Ensure the screen is flush with the frame.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to check if the new screen is functioning properly. Test the touch functionality and display to ensure everything is working as expected.
Final Assembly
Once satisfied with the screen functionality, reassemble any components removed during disassembly and ensure all screws are tightened. Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges.
