Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power off' to completely shut down your Pixel 7. Ensure it is fully powered down before proceeding.
Heat the Edges
Use an iOpener or heat gun to apply heat around the edges of the phone for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place.
Lift the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening tool into the gap to begin lifting the screen. Carefully work your way around the edges to loosen the adhesive.
Disconnect the Battery
Remove the screws securing the metal shield covering the battery connector. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector to prevent accidental power flow during the repair.
Remove the Screen
Once the adhesive is loosened, carefully lift the screen away from the device. Use tweezers to disconnect the display cable by gently lifting the connector from its socket.
Prepare the New Screen
Remove any protective films from the replacement screen. Align the display cable with the connector on the motherboard and press it into place. Ensure it is securely connected.
Reattach the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector by pressing it back into its socket. Replace the metal shield and secure it with the original screws.
Seal the Device
Apply the adhesive strips around the edges of the new screen. Carefully align and press the screen into place, ensuring a tight seal. Apply gentle pressure to secure the adhesive.
Power On and Test
Power on your Pixel 7 by pressing the power button. Verify that the new screen is functioning correctly by testing touch response and display clarity.
