Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Begin by turning off your Google Pixel 7A. Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then select 'Power Off'. Wait until the device is completely shut down before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using the SIM eject tool or a paperclip, gently press into the small hole next to the SIM card tray to release it. Remove the tray and set it aside.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen. Move the heat source in a circular motion to soften the adhesive securing the screen. Be cautious not to overheat any area.
Lift the Screen
Attach the suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges, loosening the adhesive. Work slowly to avoid cracking the screen further.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is partially lifted, locate the display connectors. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect these cables from the motherboard. Handle the cables gently to avoid damage.
Remove the Old Screen
Fully detach the old screen from the device. If any adhesive remains, gently remove it using tweezers or a spudger to ensure a clean surface for the new screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device frame. Carefully reconnect the display cables to the motherboard. Ensure the connectors are secure and properly seated.
Secure the Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided adhesive tape along the edges of the device where the screen will sit. Press the new screen firmly into place, ensuring it is aligned correctly.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot, ensuring it is seated properly.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check for touch responsiveness and display quality. Ensure all areas of the screen are working as expected.
