Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Heat the Edges
Begin by powering off your Pixel 9 Pro XL completely. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to evenly heat the edges of the phone for about 2-3 minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the screen, making it easier to remove.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the edge of the screen and gently pull to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work your way around the edges to pry the screen away. Take your time to avoid cracking the screen further or damaging internal components.
Disconnect the Battery
With the screen partially lifted, locate the battery connector. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery to ensure no power is flowing through the device during the repair.
Detach the Old Screen
Carefully disconnect any ribbon cables connecting the screen to the motherboard. Use tweezers to gently lift connectors and remove the old screen completely.
Clean the Adhesive Residue
Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to clean any remaining adhesive residue from the edges of the phone frame. This ensures a smooth surface for the new screen's adhesive.
Install the New Screen
Carefully connect the new screen's ribbon cables to the motherboard. Align the new screen with the phone's frame and press gently to secure it in place. Use adhesive strips designed for the Pixel 9 Pro XL to ensure the screen is firmly attached.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector using a spudger. Power on the device to test the new screen functionality. Ensure touch sensitivity and display clarity are working properly.
Seal the Phone
Once satisfied with the new screen's performance, press around the edges to ensure the adhesive is secure. Allow the adhesive to set for a few hours before using the phone normally.
