Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power off' to shut down the device completely.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the device. Set it aside safely.
Heat the Edges to Soften Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hair dryer on the lowest setting to gently heat the edges of the screen. Move the heat source in a circular motion for about 1-2 minutes to soften the adhesive.
Lift the Screen
Attach a suction cup to the lower part of the screen. Gently pull up on the suction cup while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry around the edges. Work slowly to avoid cracking the glass further.
Disconnect the Screen
Once the screen is loose, carefully lift it to access the connector. Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the connector bracket. Use a spudger to disconnect the display cable.
Remove the Old Adhesive
Use tweezers and isopropyl alcohol to carefully remove any remaining adhesive from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and smooth for the new adhesive.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and connect the display cable. Secure the connector with the bracket and screws. Ensure the screen is properly aligned before proceeding.
Secure the Screen with Adhesive
Apply the new adhesive strips to the edges of the frame. Press the new screen firmly into place, ensuring it adheres properly around the edges.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
Carefully reinsert the SIM card tray into the side of the phone.
Power On the Device and Test
Turn on the device by pressing the power button. Test the new screen for responsiveness and check for any display issues.
