Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Begin by powering off your Pixel 9 completely. Once off, use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray to prevent any damage during the repair.
Heat and Loosen the Adhesive
Apply heat to the edges of the screen using an iOpener or a heat gun. This will soften the adhesive, making it easier to remove the screen. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Lift the Screen
Place the suction handle on the lower part of the screen and gently pull up to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and work your way around the edges to separate the screen from the frame.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Carefully lift the screen without fully detaching it. Use precision tweezers to disconnect the display cable from the motherboard by gently lifting the connector.
Remove the Old Screen
Once the display cable is disconnected, remove the old screen completely. Use isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean any adhesive residue from the device frame.
Prepare and Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure it’s securely attached. Apply new adhesive strips to the frame, then firmly press the new screen into place.
Reassemble and Test
Reinsert the SIM card tray. Power on the device and test the new screen to ensure touch functionality and display quality are restored. Verify that the screen is properly aligned and securely attached.
