Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Phone
Press and hold the power button and select 'Power Off' from the menu to ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Using a SIM card eject tool or a paperclip, gently remove the SIM card tray from the device.
Loosen the Adhesive
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the phone screen to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in circular motions for about 2-3 minutes to avoid overheating any specific area.
Remove the Display Assembly
Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen and gently pull to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the edges to separate the screen from the phone. Take care not to damage the display cables.
Disconnect the Battery
Once the screen is lifted, use a nylon spudger to disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical discharge.
Disconnect the Display Cables
Use precision tweezers to carefully disconnect the display cables from the motherboard. Ensure no damage is done to the connectors.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's cables to the motherboard, ensuring they are securely attached. Avoid forcing connections as this could damage the components.
Reconnect the Battery
Using the nylon spudger, reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard.
Secure the New Screen
Carefully align the new screen and press it into place. Use new adhesive strips or glue to secure the screen to the chassis. Ensure it is firmly attached and edges are aligned.
Reinsert the SIM Card Tray and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the phone. Power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly.
