Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on the right side of your LG G5. Tap 'Power Off' on the screen and wait for the device to completely shut down.
Remove the Battery Module
Hold the phone with the screen facing you. Press the module release button located on the lower left side of the phone. While pressing it, gently pull the bottom of the phone to slide out the battery module.
Detach the Battery
Once the module is removed, hold the module firmly. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the battery away from the module's frame. Note that the battery is attached with mild adhesive, so a gentle but firm pressure will be needed.
Install the New Battery
Take your new LG G5 replacement battery (BL-42D1F) and align it with the connectors on the module. Press down gently until the battery snaps securely into place, ensuring a solid connection.
Reassemble the Phone
Slide the battery module back into the main body of the phone. Ensure it clicks into place and sits flush with the phone's frame.
Power On the Device
Press and hold the power button until the LG logo appears on the screen. Confirm that the phone powers on correctly and that the new battery is functioning as expected.
Verify Battery Performance
Once the device is powered on, check the battery level and ensure it is charging properly by connecting the phone to a charger. Monitor the battery usage for any irregularities over the next few hours.
