Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove Battery
Begin by powering off your LG G5 completely. Once the device is off, press the button on the lower left side of the phone to release the battery module. Pull out the battery module and remove the battery from its housing.
Remove SIM Card and Tray
Using a SIM eject tool or a paperclip, eject the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Remove the SIM card and set it aside.
Remove Screws and Rear Cover
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the rear cover. Carefully use a plastic opening tool to pry around the edges and separate the rear cover from the phone's frame.
Disconnect Internal Components
Locate and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger. Disconnect any additional connectors attached to the motherboard that might impede screen removal.
Detach Old Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen, loosening the adhesive. Apply a suction cup to the front of the screen and carefully lift it while using a spudger to separate it from the frame. Be gentle to avoid damaging internal components.
Install New Screen
Remove any remaining adhesive from the frame and apply new adhesive strips. Align the new screen and press it firmly into place. Ensure all connectors are properly aligned and reconnected.
Reassemble the Phone
Carefully reattach the rear cover, ensuring all clips and screws are secured. Insert the battery back into its housing and reattach the battery module to the phone.
Reinsert SIM Card and Power On
Reinsert the SIM card and tray into the phone. Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality.
