Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare Device
Turn off your LG G6 completely. Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This will prevent damage to your SIM card during the repair.
Heat and Remove Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Once heated, use a suction cup to gently lift the back cover while using a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it off. Be patient and avoid applying too much force.
Disconnect Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard. Use a plastic pry tool to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to prevent any electrical shorts.
Remove the Midframe
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws holding the midframe in place. Carefully lift the midframe away from the device. Keep track of the screws as they will be needed for reassembly.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply gentle heat to the front screen using a heat gun or hairdryer. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the chassis. Be cautious of the display cables as you remove the screen.
Install New Screen
Place adhesive strips around the edges of the new screen. Align the new screen with the chassis and press it firmly into place. Ensure that the display cables are connected securely to the motherboard.
Reassemble the Device
Reattach the midframe with the screws you set aside earlier. Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Carefully align and press the back cover into place. Ensure it is securely adhered using the original or new adhesive.
Test the New Screen
Power on your LG G6 and test the new screen to ensure it functions correctly. Check for touch responsiveness and display quality. Reinsert the SIM card tray once satisfied.
