Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the menu to shut down the phone completely. Wait a few seconds to ensure it is fully powered down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. This prevents any damage during the repair.
Heat the Edges of the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive securing it. Move the heat source in a circular motion to evenly distribute heat.
Pry Open the Back Cover
Carefully insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the frame. Use a suction cup to lift the cover slightly, then slide the tool around the edges to break the adhesive seal. Avoid using metal tools to prevent scratching.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector on the motherboard and use a spudger to gently disconnect it. This ensures there's no power running through the phone during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Use the heat gun or hairdryer again to soften the adhesive holding the screen to the frame. Insert a plastic opening tool or a thin piece of plastic to carefully pry the screen away from the device. Be cautious of any remaining glass shards.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Ensure it fits snugly and all edges are properly aligned. Use adhesive strips to secure the new screen.
Reconnect the Battery
Reattach the battery connector to the motherboard. Ensure it is securely connected to restore power to the device.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone and press down firmly to adhere it back to the frame. Ensure the adhesive around the edges is properly secured. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Power On the Device and Test
Press the power button to turn the phone on. Once powered, test the new screen to ensure responsiveness and display functionality. Confirm all features are working correctly.
