Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Before beginning the repair, turn off your LG G7 ThinQ completely. Use the SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device and set it aside.
Heat and Remove the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Once heated, use a suction cup to gently lift the back cover, and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it off. Be gentle to avoid damaging the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger to prevent any power flow during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Unscrew the screws securing the screen connector shield using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Gently disconnect the screen flex cable. Apply heat along the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive, then use the suction cup and plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame. Carefully connect the screen flex cable to the motherboard. Secure the screen connector shield with the screws previously removed.
Reconnect the Battery and Test
Reconnect the battery connector and reattach the battery connector shield with screws. Before sealing the device, power on the phone to ensure the new screen functions correctly.
Seal the Back Cover
Once tested, apply new adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the edges of the back cover. Align and press the back cover onto the phone frame firmly. Ensure it is securely in place.
Reinsert SIM Card and Finish
Reinsert the SIM card tray into the phone. Power on your device one last time to confirm everything is functioning properly. Dispose of the old screen safely.
