Follow these 9 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on the right side of the phone until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power Off' and wait for the device to fully shut down.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Insert a SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole next to the SIM card tray on the top of the phone. Gently push until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.
Heat the Back Cover
Use an iOpener or a hair dryer to apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat the phone, maintaining a safe temperature to handle.
Pry Open the Back Cover
Using a suction cup, gently lift the back cover. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and carefully work around the edges to separate the adhesive. Take your time to avoid cracking the glass.
Disconnect the Battery Connector
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to gently pry it off the logic board. This step ensures that there's no power running through the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Unscrew the Phillips screws securing the display assembly. Use a spudger to disconnect the display cable from the motherboard. Carefully lift and remove the old screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the device. Connect the display cable to the motherboard. Secure it in place with the screws removed earlier.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery connector. Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the back cover. Press the back cover onto the phone, ensuring a secure fit. Reinsert the SIM card tray.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure touch responsiveness and display clarity are as expected.
