Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Ensure your LG G8S ThinQ is powered off completely before beginning the repair. Hold the power button and select 'Power Off' to shut down the device.
Remove the SIM Card Tray
Use a SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray from the device. This will prevent any damage to the SIM card and give you access to the internal components.
Heat the Back Cover
Gently heat the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Move the heat source in circular motions around the edges for about 1-2 minutes to avoid overheating.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the frame. Carefully work your way around the edges to detach the adhesive, then remove the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard to ensure no power is flowing through the device.
Remove the Old Screen
Detach any screws or connectors that secure the old screen. Use a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the phone's frame, being mindful of any cables that might be attached.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the phone's frame and connect any necessary cables. Secure the screen in place with screws if required, ensuring a snug fit without forcing any components.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard. Replace the battery connector shield and secure it with screws removed earlier.
Reattach the Back Cover
Apply new adhesive tape or screen adhesive to the edges of the back cover. Carefully align and press the back cover onto the phone's frame. Apply gentle pressure to ensure a secure fit.
Test the New Screen
Power on your LG G8S ThinQ and test the new screen to ensure it is functioning correctly. Check for touch responsiveness and display quality.
