Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on your LG V35 ThinQ until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' to shut down the device completely. This is crucial to avoid any electrical mishaps during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use the heat gun or hairdryer to gently apply heat around the edges of the back cover to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the back cover slightly, then insert a plastic opening tool to carefully pry it open. Take your time to avoid cracking the back cover.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector cover. Use a spudger to gently disconnect the battery from the motherboard. Ensure the battery is fully disconnected to prevent any power flow.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Use the suction cup to lift the screen slightly, and insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Be cautious of any cables still connected to the screen.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame of the phone. Gently connect any ribbon cables to the motherboard. Ensure all connections are secure before pressing the screen into place. Use adhesive tape around the edges to secure the new screen.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery to the motherboard using the spudger. Ensure the connection is secure, then replace the battery connector cover and secure it with the screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.
Reattach the Back Cover
Carefully align the back cover with the device. Press down firmly around the edges to ensure the adhesive holds the cover in place. Reapply heat if necessary to enhance adhesion.
Power On and Test
Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. Test the new screen by checking the touch responsiveness and display quality. Ensure that all areas of the screen are functioning correctly.
