Follow these 11 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power Off' from the options. Wait until the device is completely off before proceeding.
Remove SIM and microSD Card Tray
Use the SIM eject tool to remove the SIM and microSD card tray from the side of the phone. Set the tray aside safely.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the back cover. This softens the adhesive, making it easier to remove. Heat in a circular motion for about 2-3 minutes.
Pry Open the Back Cover
Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap created by the softened adhesive at the bottom edge of the phone. Gently work around the edges to lift the back cover, using a suction cup for additional leverage if needed. Be cautious of the fingerprint sensor cable attached inside.
Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
Carefully disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable using a spudger or tweezers once the back cover is partially lifted. Set the back cover aside.
Remove Internal Screws
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the internal plastic cover and NFC antenna. Keep screws organized on a magnetic mat or tray.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a spudger to carefully disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard. This ensures no power reaches the device during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the edges of the screen with a heat gun or hairdryer. Use a plastic opening tool and suction cup to carefully pry the screen from the frame. Be mindful of the display cable during removal.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Gently press the screen into place, ensuring proper alignment.
Reassemble the Device
Reconnect the battery and secure the internal components with screws. Reattach the fingerprint sensor cable, then carefully press the back cover into place, applying pressure to secure the adhesive. Reinsert the SIM and microSD card tray.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality, ensuring touch responsiveness and display clarity are restored.
