Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Phone
Hold the power button until the power menu appears, then tap 'Power off'. Wait until the phone is completely powered down before proceeding.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover from the body of the phone. Start from a corner and work your way around. Set the cover aside once removed.
Detach the Battery
Although the battery is not removable, disconnecting it from the logic board is crucial. Use a spudger to carefully lift the battery connector from its socket on the motherboard.
Heat the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the screen for about 1-2 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place.
Remove the Screen
Place a suction cup near the top of the screen to lift it slightly. Insert a plastic opening tool between the screen and the frame. Gently pry around the edges to separate the screen from the body. If needed, reapply heat to loosen the adhesive further. Be careful with the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard.
Disconnect the Old Screen
Once the screen is free, carefully lift it and use tweezers or a spudger to disconnect the ribbon cable from the motherboard. Remove the old screen completely.
Install the New Screen
Connect the new screen's ribbon cable to the motherboard. Ensure it is securely attached. Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place. Apply gentle pressure along the edges to secure the adhesive.
Reattach the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector to the motherboard by aligning it with its socket and pressing down gently. Ensure it is secure.
Reassemble the Phone
Place the back cover onto the phone and press around the edges to snap it back into place. Ensure all edges are flush with the body of the phone.
Test the New Screen
Power on the phone to test the new screen. Check for touch responsiveness and display clarity. If everything functions correctly, the repair is complete.
