Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove Back Cover
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen. Once the phone is completely off, remove the back cover by gently prying it off with your hands. This will expose the battery and internal components.
Remove Battery and SIM/SD Card
Remove the battery by lifting it out of the compartment. If you have a SIM card or SD card installed, remove these as well to prevent any damage during the repair process.
Unscrew and Remove Midframe
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the midframe. Once all screws are removed, use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the midframe from the body of the phone.
Disconnect Display Cables
Carefully lift the motherboard slightly and use tweezers or a spudger to disconnect any cable connectors tied to the display. This includes the display and digitizer cables.
Remove the Old Screen
Heat the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen away from the device. Work the plastic opening tool around the edges to free the screen completely.
Install the New Screen
Place the new screen in position and press it gently to adhere. Ensure all connectors are aligned and securely attached. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure the screen, if necessary.
Reconnect Display Cables and Reassemble
Reconnect all the display cables to the motherboard. Carefully place the midframe back onto the phone and secure it with screws. Reinsert the battery, SIM card, and SD card.
