Follow these 7 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Card
Ensure the device is completely powered off. Use the SIM card eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone.
Remove Back Cover and Battery
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry off the back cover starting from a corner. Once removed, use the same tool to lift and remove the battery carefully to avoid damaging the battery connector.
Unscrew and Remove Midframe
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove all screws securing the midframe. Once all screws are removed, gently pry the midframe away using a spudger, being cautious not to damage any cables.
Detach Display and Digitizer Connectors
Locate the connectors for the display and digitizer on the motherboard. Use a spudger to carefully disconnect these connectors by prying them upward.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently heat the edges of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Apply a suction cup near the top of the screen and gently pull while using a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame.
Install New Screen
Before installing the new screen, ensure the frame is clean and free of old adhesive. Align the new screen and press it firmly into place. Use adhesive strips or double-sided tape to secure it.
Reassemble the Phone
Reconnect the display and digitizer connectors to the motherboard. Reattach the midframe and secure it with screws. Place the battery back and snap the back cover into place.
