Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on the Moto E40 until the power menu appears. Tap 'Power off' to shut down the device completely. This ensures safety and prevents data loss.
Remove the Back Cover and Battery
Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the back cover and the device. Gently pry around the edges to detach the back cover. Remove the battery by carefully lifting it out of its compartment.
Unscrew and Remove the Midframe
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws from the midframe. Keep the screws organized for reassembly. Carefully lift the midframe using a spudger.
Disconnect the Screen Connector
Identify the screen connector on the motherboard. Use a nylon spudger to gently disconnect the screen flex cable from the motherboard.
Remove the Old Screen
Apply heat around the edges of the screen using a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Use a suction cup to lift the screen slightly and insert a plastic opening tool to separate the screen from the frame. Work slowly to avoid breaking the screen further.
Install the New Screen
Clean the frame using a microfiber cloth to remove any adhesive residue. Apply new adhesive strips around the edges of the frame. Align the new screen with the frame and press gently to secure it in place.
Reconnect the Screen Connector
Reconnect the screen flex cable to the motherboard by aligning it properly and pressing down with a spudger until it clicks into place.
Reassemble the Device
Place the midframe back onto the device and secure it with the screws you removed earlier. Ensure all screws are tightened evenly.
Replace the Battery and Back Cover
Insert the battery back into its compartment. Align the back cover with the edges of the phone and press down until it clicks securely into place.
Power On and Test the New Screen
Press the power button to turn on the Moto E40. Test the new screen for responsiveness and check for any display issues. Ensure all functions are working correctly before concluding the repair.
