Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Prepare the Device
Begin by powering off your Motorola Moto E5 Supra completely. Remove any SIM or SD cards from the device using the SIM card eject tool. This will prevent damage to the cards during the repair process.
Remove the Back Cover
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back cover of the device. Start at the bottom edge and work your way around the device. Be gentle to avoid damaging the plastic clips holding the cover in place.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger to ensure there's no power running through the device during the repair.
Heat and Remove the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat around the edges of the screen to soften the adhesive. Once heated, place a suction cup near the top edge of the screen and gently pull up to create a gap. Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap and slide it around the edges to release the adhesive.
Disconnect the Display Cable
Once the screen is loose, gently lift it but do not fully remove it yet. Locate the display cable connector and use tweezers to disconnect it from the motherboard. Carefully set the old screen aside.
Install the New Screen
Take the new screen and connect the display cable to the motherboard. Ensure the connection is secure. Align the new screen with the frame and press it into place gently.
Secure the New Screen
Apply double-sided adhesive tape around the edges of the screen for a secure fit. Once aligned correctly, press the screen firmly to ensure the adhesive bonds properly.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the battery connector shield, securing it with the screws removed earlier.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the device and press down firmly around the edges to snap it back into place. Ensure all clips are engaged.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device to ensure the new screen is functioning correctly. Check for display clarity and touch responsiveness. If everything works as expected, the repair is complete.
