Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off and Remove SIM Tray
Power off your Moto E5 completely. Use the SIM eject tool or a paperclip to remove the SIM card tray from the side of the phone. Set it aside safely.
Heat the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the screen. This will soften the adhesive holding the screen in place. Be careful not to overheat the device.
Remove the Back Cover
Insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the frame. Carefully work your way around the edges to release the clips holding the cover. Remove the cover and set it aside.
Disconnect the Battery
Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield with tweezers and disconnect the battery connector using a spudger.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a suction cup to gently lift the screen. Insert a plastic opening tool to carefully separate the screen from the frame. Disconnect the display cable and remove the old screen.
Prepare and Install the New Screen
Remove any remaining adhesive from the frame. Apply new double-sided adhesive tape to the edges. Connect the new screen’s cable to the motherboard, align it properly, and press it firmly into place.
Reconnect the Battery and Secure the Phone
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the battery connector shield, securing it with the screws. Reattach the back cover by pressing it into place until all clips are secure.
Reinsert SIM Tray and Test
Reinsert the SIM tray. Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality, ensuring touch sensitivity and display quality are as expected.
