Follow these 8 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button on the Moto E6 Play until the power menu appears. Select 'Power Off' to completely shut down your device. This is crucial to prevent any electrical short circuits during the repair.
Remove the Back Cover
Use the plastic opening tool to gently pry the back cover away from the phone. Work your way around the edges until the cover is completely detached. Take care not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the clips.
Disconnect the Battery
Using the Phillips #00 screwdriver, remove the screws securing the battery connector shield. Carefully lift the shield using a spudger, then disconnect the battery connector by gently prying it up with the spudger.
Heat the Edges of the Screen
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to apply heat evenly around the edges of the front screen. This will soften the adhesive securing the screen to the frame. Be cautious not to overheat and damage the internal components.
Remove the Broken Screen
Once the adhesive is softened, use a suction cup to gently lift the screen. If necessary, use a plastic opening tool to help separate the screen from the frame. Carefully disconnect any ribbon cables attaching the screen to the motherboard.
Prepare and Install the New Screen
Clean the frame with a microfiber cloth to remove any residue. Align the new screen and connect the ribbon cables to the motherboard. Secure the screen in place using adhesive strips or double-sided tape.
Reconnect the Battery and Replace the Back Cover
Reconnect the battery connector and replace the battery connector shield using the Phillips #00 screwdriver. Snap the back cover back onto the phone, ensuring that all clips are securely fastened.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Ensure the display is responsive and free from defects. If everything works properly, the repair is complete.
