Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Hold down the power button until the 'Power Off' option appears on the screen. Tap 'Power Off' to shut down your Moto E6 completely. Wait for the screen to go black, ensuring the device is fully powered down.
Remove the Back Cover
Using your fingernail or a plastic opening tool, gently pry off the back cover starting from the bottom corner of the device. Carefully work your way around the edges until the cover is completely detached. Set it aside.
Remove the Battery
Locate the battery and use the plastic opening tool to lift it out of its compartment. Store the battery safely to prevent any accidental short-circuits.
Unscrew and Remove the Midframe
Use the Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the midframe. Carefully lift the midframe using the spudger and set it aside. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.
Detach the Screen Assembly
Use the heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the front screen to soften the adhesive. Once warm, use a suction cup to slightly lift the screen. Slide a plastic opening tool around the edges to release the adhesive, being careful not to damage the LCD or cables.
Disconnect the Screen Cables
Carefully lift the screen just enough to access the display cables. Use tweezers to disconnect the cables from the motherboard. Remove the screen assembly completely.
Install the New Screen
Position the new screen near the device and connect the display cables to the motherboard. Ensure the connections are secure and properly aligned. Avoid pressing down on the screen until the next step.
Secure the Screen
Apply adhesive strips or double-sided tape around the frame where the screen will sit. Carefully align and press the new screen into place, ensuring a firm and even bond. Allow the adhesive to set if necessary.
Reassemble the Device
Reinstall the midframe and secure it with the screws you removed earlier. Insert the battery back into its compartment and replace the back cover by pressing it firmly until it clicks into place.
Power On and Test the Device
Turn on your Motorola Moto E6 by pressing the power button. Test the new screen for proper functionality, ensuring touch sensitivity and display clarity are restored.
