Follow these 10 steps to complete your repair
Power Off the Device
Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' to completely turn off your Motorola Moto Edge 20.
Heat the Back Cover
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to evenly heat the edges of the back cover for about 2-3 minutes. This will soften the adhesive holding the back cover in place.
Remove the Back Cover
Gently insert a plastic opening tool between the back cover and the phone frame. Work your way around the edges to carefully pry off the back cover. Use a suction cup for additional leverage if necessary.
Disconnect the Battery
Locate the battery connector and use a spudger to carefully disconnect it. This will help prevent any accidental short circuits during the repair.
Remove the Old Screen
Use a heat gun to soften the adhesive around the screen. Gently insert a plastic opening tool under the screen edge and carefully lift it away from the frame. Be cautious of the flex cable connections.
Clean the Frame
Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to clean any remaining adhesive from the frame. Ensure the surface is clean and smooth for the new screen installation.
Install the New Screen
Align the new screen with the frame and connect the flex cables. Secure the screen in place using adhesive strips or glue. Ensure it is firmly seated and aligned correctly.
Reconnect the Battery
Reconnect the battery connector using a spudger. Ensure it is securely attached.
Reattach the Back Cover
Align the back cover with the phone frame and press firmly around the edges to secure the adhesive. Reheat the edges if necessary to ensure a good seal.
Test the New Screen
Power on the device and test the new screen for functionality. Check the touch responsiveness and display quality to ensure everything is working correctly.
